Services Offered

Handy Engineering also can provide services such as appraisals, layout and drafting assistance, recommendations for local installation contractors, and other specialty contractors as needed.

The first step after qualifying a prospective buyer's needs is to actually show the equipment preferably with the owner/operator present. It is preferable to have the system running. This is when the system is sold

Sometimes a system is not sold before a lease expires or a plant is sold and has a new owner who needs the space. We can show the equipment owner how to remove the equipment and connecting utilities so as to preserve as much value as possible. The contractor can also develop a schematic with panels and modules marked to enhance the re-installation.

Typically an equipment listing will have a plan drawing of the system as well as the original contract. In many instances the original drawings can be obtained from the manufacture for a nominal fee. Once the equipment has been identified as meeting the needs of the buyer the next step will be to lay the system out in the new location. A scaled cut and paste layout typically allows a rough- in of the system to determine column clearances and material flow. The next step would be to overlay a scaled drawing onto the new site showing new utility needs and general interfaces with building columns, etc. Once this scaled drawing has been developed the viability of the project will have been established allowing mechanical and electrical contractors to develop their quotes for their work on the installation. Specialty rigging equipment as well as transport trucks and scheduling of these will be a part of the pull-out and installation.

We will assist with identifying spare parts sources for the various types of equipment.
